A perfect album for a Sunday!
Album: Ray Conniff
and his orchestra and chorus
“Concert In Rhythm”
This is the forth album in his Columbia collection and after listening to it, I hope to discover his three earlier albums aswell. Very light hearted and perfect with the paper and orange juice. I especially like how the chorus sounds more instrumental than vocal – a wordless chorus!
For this album, Conniff chose some nifty classics to rearrange. My favorite was his remake of Franz Schubert’s Serenade. But since the whole album is great, I am just going to include a full track listing.
Side A:
- Theme from Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto
- Theme from Swan Lake Ballet
- Theme from Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto
- Theme from Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony
- Theme from Ray Conniff Suite
- Theme from Romeo and Juliet
Side B:
- Rhapsody in Blue
- I’m Always Chasing Rainbows
- The Lamp Is Low
- Theme from Grand Canyon Suite
- My Reverie
- Serenade
